About Model School:

As per the census of 2001 , 81 numbers of educationally backward blocks ( EBB ) were identified in Assam where the female literacy rate was found to be below the national average literacy rate . With a view to educationally upgrade these blocks , the Ministry of Human Resource Development ( MHRD ) , Govt . of India had proposed to establish Model Schools in these EBB through Rastriya Madhyamik Siksha Abhijan ( RMSA ) , which is already working in providing accessive , affordable and quality secondary education throughout the Country.

Thereby, Adarsh Vidyalaya Barkhetri came into existence under this prestigious and far reaching scheme.
